( December 9, 2012, Chennai, Sri Lanka Guardian) It was alleged by Special Investigation Team that it was the Inspector General of police, Tamil Nadu, Mr.Ragavan who had taken possession of Chinon Camera CX from the site immediately after the bomb blast on the night of 21st May 1991 and it was further alleged that one Haribabu had used that Chinon CX camera in taking the iconical 10 shots. we have already heard the Chief investigation officer saying that the colour roll of film was taken out from the camera , taken to a studio near by, the exposed film was cut away, packed and sent to Chennai for developing the negative and what is to be taken note of is the roll of film was not sent directly to Forensic Department, Tamil Nadu.

( November 04, 2012, Chennai, Sri Lanka Guardian) The Special Investigation Team which had been constituted to investigate into the Assassination of Shri Rajiv Gandhi had comprised in it Mr.DR Karthikeyan who was Inspector General of Police/Joint Director of Criminal Bureau of Investigation and the Chief of the Special Investigation Team, 5 Inspectors General of Police, 8 Superintendants of Police from Criminal Bureau of Investigation,14 Deputy Superintends of Police and 44 Inspectors of Police.

The Chief Investigating officer was one of the Superintendents of police Mr.K.Ragothaman who has written a book in Tamil under the caption “Rajiv Gandhi Kolai Vazhaku” in November 2009 which has been published by Kizhakku Pathippagam, Chennai. The Chief Investigating officer who, at page No.205 in Chapter 30-‘May Speak Henceforth’, pours forth the distress, a sense of contrition and feelings of remorsefulness for the deliberate failure on the part of the chief of Intelligence Bureau Mr.M.K.Naraynanan in returning the video cassette with which the videographer was video graphing the sequence of events in the course of the political rally at the place at Sriperumpudur some time before the incident of bomb blast. But the question is whether such belated spurt of feelings was genuine or spurious or it was a an act of pretence of excuse for some act of failure on the part of the Special Investigation Team in general or knowingly had the Chief Investigating officer Mr.K.Ragothaman been privy to things which he ought not to have done but he had done much against his Will and conscience and contrary to principles of justice has to be assessed a fresh in the light of a Television programme telecast in Times Now TV at 9.PM on 30.10.2012.

( February 10, Chennai, Sri Lanka Guardian) The death convicts will be heaving a sigh of relief temporarily as their case has been adjourned owing to the pendency of a connected matter before Honourable Supreme Court of India.

Earlier it came to be mentioned that the death convicts have been languishing in jail for about13 years which is incorrect, for they are being incarcerated for about 21 years on end; a mistake has crept into it by oversight and therefore the number 13 may be correctly read as 21.

In view of the discussion already made in respect of the 4 photographs , one may safely arrive at a conclusion that there are no similarities or identical features of the persons who figure in the photographs. Those 4 photographs were not the only ones pertaining to Sivarasan who was said to be the master mind in executing the plan which had been alleged to have been hatched by LTTE.

( February 02, Chennai, Sri Lanka Guardian) The Head of Special Investigation Team, Mr.Karthikeyan would thank a top official in Tamil Nadu Forensic Science Laboratory for having sent the sealed negatives to Hindu News paper on the next morning and this is what he had stated in his book, ‘ there were a total of ten pictures. Yet the next morning a major part of the first of these ten photographs found its way to the Hindu front page, thanks to the top official at TNFSL’.

Can a high ranking officer like Mr.D.R.Kartikeyan be heard to say that the sealed negatives found their way to Hindu Newspaper? it is not so simple a matter that could be brushed aside and not taken note of . At any stretch of imagination, the pilferage of vital document cannot tend to be a matter for thanks giving. When a top official was said to have passed on such vital and only documentary evidence to the Hindu News paper then such an official, what ever his rank be or whatever position he happened to occupy, should not be pardoned and he should be punished in accordance with the provisions of law and it is a serious matter of divulging a secret which would have its ramification on and over investigation of the case. Mr.D.R. Karthikeyan had not chosen to reveal the name of the top official who had the audacity in giving away the material evidence to a third party and this aspect needs to be probed deeper. The vital and only documentary evidence should have passed hands only on some considerations and the nature of such a consideration has to be investigated.

( January 31, Chennai, Sri Lanka Guardian) Certain factual aspects have been constrained to be repeated for appreciation and excerpts from the passage from the books authored by the Head of the Special Investigation Team and the Chief Investigation officer are necessarily to be quoted verbatim and therefore the author craves the indulgence of the readers to bear with him.

The death row convicts in Rajiv Gandhi Assassination case are eagerly awaiting the impending result that would ensue in the Writ petition which is about to be heard before The Honourable High Court of Judicature at Madras at the end of this month and they are very much hopeful and expectant that their life would be saved and in reality, the 13 long years of incarceration in itself would tantamount to execution. A chunk of prime of their life has been truncated and made a waste and their plea is they are innocent of crime foisted against them.
